Yesterday, 30-year-old cyclist, David Guttenplan, was by a car while riding his bicycle on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard in Clearwater. According to ClearwaterPatch.com, this Clearwater bicycle accident happened while Mr. Guttenplan was in the eastbound lane on the 2900 block of Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard shortly after 5:30 p.m. He was then hit by a car that was traveling westbound and turned in front of the cyclist causing the bicycle accident. Mr. Guttenplan was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard was closed until approximately 8 p.m., police said. The case is still under investigation continues.
