Girl Falls into Manhole While Text-Messaging

We all know that text-messaging while driving causes car accidents. Now, text-message while walking apparently causes teenagers to fall into open manholes.

A Staten Island teen was walking with a friend along Victory Blvd. on Wednesday when she suddenly dropped underground because of an manhole left opened by a Department of Environmental Protection team. The schoolgirl had just been passed the phone by her friend and was opening it to send a text message when the ground beneath her feet disappeared.

This should remind us that text-messaging is distracting. Don’t do while driving. No message is that important to put you or others at risk of a car accident.
