Prayers and thoughts go out to the family of Nichol Lynn Barker who was killed after a vehicle turned left in front of her causing a crash in Holiday, Florida. This Holiday car accident also sent a 4 year old and 10 year old to the hospital.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, 34-year-old Nichol Lynn Barker died Wednesday after the car she was driving collided head-on with another vehicle that turned into her path. It is reported that Ms. Barker was driving east on Moog Road in Holiday around 6:40 p.m. Another driver, a 19-year-old from New Port Richey, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Firebird west on Moog Road. This driver tried to turn left onto Pinehurst, but maneuvered his turn directly into the path of Ms. Barker.
Sadly, Ms. Barker was killed in this Holiday car accident and her three passengers, which included a 4-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy, were injured despite wearing seatbelts and all three were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Each was wearing a seatbelt.
This Holiday car accident should serve as a reminder to all that special attention in required when turning in front of oncoming vehicles. Even if you think you could make the turn, don’t try it until you know that no one (including yourself is at risk). A few extra seconds could save your life and prevent injuries to others.
Drive safely and watch out for those who don’t.
